I've read that children that come second in time, are never second in the hearts of those who love them.
It's a strange thing to think that you could love two children equally, but it couldn't be more true in Owen's case!
Owen may have arrived as the second baby in his sweet family of four, but the moment he arrived he was met with every bit of the love his family felt for his big brother. Furthermore, his big brother is absolutely smitten with him too, so he gets some extra love! Of course, looking at those precious, teeny, tiny little features how could you meet Owen and not just swoon over him (I know I did!).
Owen could have passed for a doll for his newborn photos, he was so peaceful and sleepy, he couldn't have cared less what was going on. He especially loved when he was held and cuddled in the arms of his loving family. He even smiled a few times when he was being held safe and sound by them. He was just the sweetest little thing and I also would have happily snuggled him all day long, and thankfully he is part of my family too, so I got some extra snuggle time in too!
Owen's momma loved a photo from his big brother's newborn session with a little bear hat, so we recreated it with Owen. I will say, Owen's turned out even better than his big brother's did a couple years ago (hooray for continued growth!) I was so glad she remembered it and we could give the boys some similar looks while being completely unique in their own ways. We even swaddled Owen in the same blue swaddle his big brother had been swaddled in. It will certainly be fun to compare these two as they grow up and see the ways they are similar verses the ways they are totally opposite!
Owen, you are already one very lucky little boy to have the best and most loving family surrounding you. I am so blessed to have you as part of my family, and so happy I could capture these first portraits of you. I am so excited to watch you grow up and see who you become!! Welcome to the world little buddy!!
