Watching children grow up and their personalities shine through is one of the greatest blessings in life that there is.
One of my favorite things about being a photographer is being able to capture those personalities to memorialize them for all time.
I have had the absolute joy of knowing the Weikel family for many years and have watched the kiddos grow up. They are a part of my church family, and they have always been a blessing to know. Their kiddos have especially been a great source of entertainment! Both L and J have the sweetest and most comical personalities about them, you can't help but smile when you're around them!
While J's momma was a bit concerned about how he would handle the photos since he hadn't had professional photos taken since he was a baby, he couldn't have been a more happy and willing subject! Naturally he was his young, energetic, and silly self, but that just made everything so much more fun! We shared a lot of laughs throughout the session, and I just loved all the variety of natural expressions that he gave as he hammed it up.
His sister L was a pretty fantastic little lady to photograph as well, she could go from cool and confident to giggles in an instant. She even contributed her own ideas for photos to take of the family. L was more than willing to be a helpful big sister, as she is always willing to lend a helping hand where it's needed. She is shaping up to be a wonderful young lady already! Both L and J did so amazing, we even had some time to squeeze in some photos of just their mom and dad. I always love to capture the two people whose love led to the family they both hold so dear. So often when couples grow their families, photos of them as a couple go by the wayside, but it's one of those details I always try to include so they can look back on the love they shared at that moment in time for all eternity.
Weikel family, you were an absolute joy to photograph and I am so honored to have captured this special time in your lives. You are all a blessing to know, and I can't wait to continue to watch as your children grow and thrive in the home you have built in love.
