Summer at the Creek with the Novinger Family

Family Portraits, Child Portraits

I love family. If you have followed along with me for any length of time, you already know how much I adore working with families. I especially love my family though, not to be partial or biased, but they are pretty awesome!

Whether we are talking about my immediate family, or in this case, my cousin and their family, I love being with and around my family. They just always add so much joy to what may otherwise be a normal run of the mill day.

One of the best things about having cousins that are as awesome as mine are, is when they grow up, fall in love, and start a family of their own. Being able to watch them raise miniature versions of themselves and relive their childhoods is just so magical and such an incredible blessing. With my cousin B, there is no doubt whatsoever that he has mini versions of himself since both children are spinning images of him when he was a little boy!

This family of four that is so dear to me, is always down to go play in the creek, which I also love. Of course it's only fitting to catch some crayfish to help keep the kiddos amused when playing in the creek, B was quick to snag one out of the water and show the kiddos! They were quite fascinated by the little pinchers and how their dad held it without fear.

The other natural thing to do as a kid when there is water, is splash around and have a good time! Little B was much better at splashing around than sweet little H, but with some help from her momma she managed to splash her big brother back too! To add to the fun the kiddos each got to giggle their hearts out as they had their hair dipped in the water for a little game with their mom and dad. Although in spite of all the water to play in and crayfish to chase, I really think the kiddos favorite part of the evening was the gummies they get as bribery, because there was a definite need for some bribe candy with little H especially! It makes me wonder why nobody ever gave me bribe candy growing up to get photos taken, I feel like I missed out!

All in all, we had a fun time catching up and playing in the creek to celebrate another trip around the sun. Watching these two little ones grow up and the way their mom and dad just adore them is one of the greatest blessings in my life. Thank you for allowing me to capture another year of memories for your wonderful family! Till next time Novinger family!!!
