Kratzer Family in the Orchards

Family Portraits

One of the things I hear most often when parents talk about raising their children is that time is a thief.

The years fly by and children grow up all too quickly, and as they get older, schedules become more hectic and getting family photos together ends up on the back burner. I was glad that the Kratzer family was able to make time in their schedules this past Fall to get pictures with one another!

Coordinating schedules is definitely no joke when teenagers are involved. Between work, school, and extracurricular activities, teens are a hard group to pin down. We *almost* had another wrench thrown into the scheduling when the weather threatened to storm, luckily we waited it out and managed to stay dry for their entire session. It was a bit brisk and windy, but I couldn't have asked for a better group to take the questionable weather in stride than this one!

This fun group had me laughing the entire time we were together. They took my pregnancy brain that somehow thought two of the girls were daughters and rolled with it, allowing me to snap several "father and daughter" photos before they corrected me! None of them seemed to mind my misinterpretation and we all enjoyed a good laugh over it!

Even the guys seemed on board and into the photo shoot, which for teen guys is saying a lot! While most teenage girls are more than happy to strike a pose and flash a lovely smile for the camera, when you get a group of guys like this family, it's like winning the lottery! I could tell that these teens all loved their mother very much and wanted to do this for her to make her happy because it was important to her. Raising children that love and respect their mother as teenagers speaks volumes to the kind of wonderful mother D must be!

I am so thankful that I was able to meet all of the Kratzer family and their significant others on this Fall day. You were all an amazing group of people to photograph and I had so much fun getting to know you! Thank you for allowing me to capture this time in your lives together!!
