Family Photos by the Mighty Susquehanna

Family Portraits

Three children, full of their own unique personalities, laughing, playing, splashing along the banks of the mighty Susquehanna. Their beautiful momma, with a heart of gold. The absolutely most perfect evening. Does it get any better than this for a random Tuesday night, nope, I don't think so!

I always enjoy a nice visit to the beautiful Penn's Tavern, even when they're closed(although I do really enjoy sitting on the deck with a Muddled Berry Whiskey Sour and some lovely food when they are open!). The setting is so serene and peaceful, sitting right along the river with a beautifully landscaped yard and gardens to feast the eyes on. When Hayley suggested having their family photos there, I was all about it!

Hayden, Harmony and Hadley each have a very strong and confident character all of their own. Hayden is at the age where this whole picture thing is not "cool", but he was a good sport and played along for his mother's sake anyway. Even though he wasn't really feeling the whole thing, I did manage to coax a few smiles out of him (with some help from his sisters of course!). Harmony and Hadley both loved and lived up every minute of the camera time. They were as most young girls are, happy, carefree, and all about smiling for the camera. I absolutely adored each of their personalities. They were so strong and confident, the way that every child, and really, adult should be. Just happy with who they are as a person. Not worrying about which side is their good side, not a care in the world. If only we could all be more like that.

Their beautiful momma is even more lovely on the inside than she is on the outside, and that's saying something because she is positively radiant! I have had the joy of knowing her since school, and I swear she has only gotten more lovely as we have gotten older, like fine wine. It's no wonder that her children all are as sweet as they are and look so good in front of the camera! The kiddos each took turns making silly faces and photo bombing each other, including silly actions in the background(I promise, nobody was wounded in this session!)

The kiddos even got their feet wet in the river for a bit during our session which was so much fun! They dared to venture out all on their own, and had a blast splashing around in the water. They filled our time together with life and laughter, joy and fun. I had an absolute blast with this family, they were so joyful and energetic, they were truly a pleasure to photograph. Thank you, each and every one of you for not only following along with all my crazy ideas, but for adding so much beauty and fun to the session all on your own. I am so honored to have captured this special time in your lives.
