Family in the Orchards

Family Portraits

Big blue eyes and luscious long lashes gazing out at the world. Faces lighting up with delightful smiles and the sweet sound of happy laughter. The most lovely sound of children laughing and playing without a care in the world. Such a beautiful escape in the midst of a crazy world.

Some of my fondest memories growing up are of the times I spent playing with my cousins. We had a blast together as children when our families would get together, always happily playing with each other and our siblings. Now we're adults, and many of my cousins have little ones of their own, but we still have a great time when we get to see one another!

I had the most wonderful time recently, wandering around Dries Orchards with one of my dear cousins and his family. I just adore these four people, they are one of the sweetest and most fun families you could ever hope to meet! I always enjoy when I get to see them and spend time with them, especially because those little ones grow like weeds! Side note, when I grow up I want to have lashes like them because they are amazing!

Being able to watch this family grow is such a wonderful blessing in my life. I have been able to see my fun loving cousin be transformed into a tender father and loving husband to his wife and children. I have become "Aunt Rose" to a few more adorable kiddos that I love so dearly. I think this is the best part of growing up with cousins, how your family just continues to grow and grow. These two sweet kiddos are so wonderfully blessed by their parents. They share both a love for their children and for each other. I think it's safe to say they both married their best friend, and found the soul that was meant to be with theirs. They are both some of the kindest and most thoughtful people you could ever hope to meet, and are always happy to help those in need. All in all, this is one of those families that you just can't help but love!

We planned this shoot around sweet little Hadley's first birthday. Her momma just wanted to keep it simple, so that's what we did and the kids loved it! Hadley and Brantley had fun adventuring around and under the trees. They enjoyed pointing out all the apples hanging on the trees and searching the ground for ones that had fallen off. They got to swing from their parents arms and fly high in the sky like superman. We had a most joyful time together playing in the orchards and capturing these sweet and tender moments. At the end of the day, that's what kids will remember most, the time they spent just being happy and enjoying their childhood with their parents.

I am so thankful to not only be a part in your lives, but to also have the blessing of capturing these precious milestones for your sweet family. I love watching Brantley and Hadley grow up, and I can't wait to see what the next year brings for each of you. I am so thankful to have family like you four, and hope that someday soon I will have children of my own to play with yours!
