Creek Photos with Another Sweet Family

Family Portraits

The smiles and laughter of a sweet family splashing in the water. A beautiful Summer day to spend frolicking and enjoying each others company. All the love and joy of being in this peaceful and quiet moment together. For a moment, all the world disappears and there is only this time filled with love.

I had the joy of meeting this wonderful family for a morning in the creek, and what a time it was! Mom and Dad in this crew were so easy going and such a great pleasure to photograph. They understood and embraced the challenges that come with photo shoots when the kiddos are little. It might not look it in these photos, but little Luca was not feeling his close up! It’s always rough when you wake up from a nap and there’s some strange lady trying to get you to smile, I totally get it lol! Sometimes that’s just the way things pan out with littles. But mom and dad persevered and they were awesome at being creative in helping to cheer up their little man.

Then we had this adorable itty bitty sweetheart. Sawyer was sooo stinking cute, and she absolutely loved all the attention from her mom and dad. Sawyer didn’t mind having her photo taken at all, and she may have gotten a little extra camera time because of it. Sweet little babies splashing in the water are always great in my book! I just loved being able to watch her interact and smile with her family, the love they all shared was so easy to see.

Every photo shoot may not go as planned, sometimes you have to be willing to improvise. In this case, we got more of those sweet, genuine, heartfelt moments of Luca clinging to his mom for comfort and reassurance. These moments to me are in some ways more important than the perfectly posed photos with everyone looking at the camera and smiling. These moments show the love and the closeness between a family. These moments are also so very fleeting, which is why I always find them so important to capture. In what will seem like the blink of an eye, these two cuties will be teenagers, and then it won’t be cool to hug mom and dad and give them kisses and be close to them. Thankfully, they will still have these memories and photos to look back on and remind themselves on those really hard days in the teenage years, that there was a time when they were their babies whole world.

I am so thankful to this sweet family for letting me capture these special memories for them. I am thankful that we got to splash and play in the creek in spite of interrupted naps. I hope to see you all again and see these adorable kiddos grow up!
