A sweet itty bitty baby girl, sound asleep. Her head full of thick black hair, some of the most beautiful hair on a newborn I have ever seen. Her family so in love with her, gushing and glowing as they surround her. Her big sister, so proud and excited for her new baby sister. What a beautiful time for a wonderful family and a darling little baby girl.
Tiny little miss Kensley must have been just as excited to meet her family as they were to meet her. I could hardly believe it when her momma reached out to let me know that this precious little angel decided she was ready to come and grace the world with her presence six weeks sooner than expected. I had planned on taking her newborn photos sometime in August, but that’s why I always say “tentative” when I schedule my newborn sessions in advance. Every little one has their own grand plans for how they want to enter the world. Some come early, some come late, and some come right on their due date. Little miss Kensley decided she was ready to see the big wide world way sooner than anyone expected, but don’t let her size fool you! Kensley was just as much of an octopus to wrap and swaddle as every other newborn.
I absolutely adored seeing Kensley’s big sister Skylar loving on her new baby sister. You could absolutely see that Skylar loves Kensley with her whole heart, and that love will only grow and grow as they get older. Skylar did such a good job at being careful and gentle around her sweet baby sister, and they had the cutest outfits too! I can see already that these two are going to be the absolute best of friends as they grow up. Having sisters is such a blessing because you always have a friend, a supporter, and someone in your corner when you need them most. I should know, I was blessed with two of my own sisters and I can’t imagine my life without them. Siblings help shape who we become as a person, just as much as our parents.
Speaking of parents, Kensley’s momma and daddy were also a joy to photograph. It was easy to see that they were smitten with their baby girl. The love shared in this family showed through so abundantly and was such a beautiful thing to witness and capture. The whole family was so joyful and sweet, I absolutely loved working with them! As an extra bonus they are such a photogenic family to have in front of my camera. I couldn’t help but joke with their dad that he is a lucky man because he gets to spend his life surrounded by not just one, but three beautiful ladies now!
Kensley was such an angel for her whole session. She slept most of the time, but I did manage to catch a sweet little smile from her, and every once in awhile I got to see her eyes. She may not have been overly amused with me when I would change out her swaddling and change how she was posed, but she always quieted down quickly and settled back to sleep. I had such a great time capturing this special time for Kensley and her family!
Sweet little Kensley, I am so very honored to have had this opportunity to meet you so early in your life. You are such a beautiful blessing and a light in your family’s life. There is no doubt in my mind that as you grow you will only be more beautiful and loved. I can’t wait to see you again and watch you grow!
