Everybody loves to be with the fun couple. You know, the ones that can make friends anywhere, make everyone laugh, that aren’t afraid to laugh at themselves and don’t mind being free to have a jolly good time. They are a beam of sunlight whenever they walk into a room, and you just know that when they’re there, you’re going to be smiling the whole time. These two love bugs are that couple.
When Chelsea reached out to me about scheduling some Christmas photos, I knew I had the perfect set just waiting to be used for them. I knew that Chelsea and Chris would be the perfect ones to get my first official use out of my Christmas kitchen set that had been sitting for over a year, it had their names written all over it. If anyone was going to dig in, throw sprinkles and flour at each other, feed each other icing, and really get into this, it would be these two. Add to their personalities the fact that Chelsea was about 6 months pregnant when we did the shoot, I mean seriously, a momma to be and cookies, they are made for each other! Chris may have missed the memo that tossing flour and sprinkles on one another was totally acceptable, but he learned pretty quickly! I about died laughing at his shocked expression when Chelsea hit him with the first handful of flour though! I seriously never laughed so hard in my entire life during a shoot as I did with these two!
I think one of the best things about this shoot is that it takes everyone back to memories of their childhood. I think we all took time growing up to decorate cookies, and the simplicity of that fun activity and memory just makes this whole thing so much more precious. Of course with an expecting momma to be we had to make sure and decorate a mommy and daddy gingerbread cookie with a little extra heart for their baby. They really did a great job decorating the cookies, when they weren’t eating icing and having food fights at least!
The second half of their shoot was spent in comfy cozy pj’s which I am ALWAYS a fan of. I think it’s so cute and adorable when families get the matching pajamas and go for that Christmas morning vibe for some of their photos. One of these years I am so going to get some for our family too, and hope I can convince my husband to wear his and join in the fun! Chelsea and Chris rocked their mama bear and papa bear jammies! These two went from sweet intimate moments to pillow fights with absolute perfection, I think Chris got into the pillow fight part a bit more than Chelsea, but she was a good sport about it anyway! Chelsea and Chris truly are so happy, in love, and in sync with one another, they are just a joy to be around! They are going to be wonderful parents!!!
Chelsea and Chris, I am so blessed to not only have had the opportunity to capture these Christmas photos of the two of you, but also to have you as friends. You are both such a blessing to each and every person that knows you, and I can’t wait to watch your little Gros love bug family grow!
