There are many times in life when we all have to be ok with changes and improvising. Things don't always go according to plan in this world we live in, especially in 2020 it seems. Thankfully, Canyon is a very adaptive young man already, as he proved during his senior portrait session!
The seniors that graduated in 2020 had a very unusual ending to their senior year. It wasn't what anyone would have planned or hoped for, but they handled it as best as they could. Those students coming up to graduate in 2021 have had a roller coaster ride of a start too! From hybrid learning, online learning, and in person with masks and hygiene rules, these are certainly unprecedented times. Thankfully, the students I have had the pleasure of working with and getting to know have shown their resilience and how much they can roll with the changes. Canyon is one of those great seniors.
Canyon's senior session was initially planned to end in the creek on my family's farm. The weather had other plans. Around the time that we moved to go to the creek, the drizzle and mist picked up to a very steady rain. Canyon was cool with it though and didn't seem to mind that he missed out on the creek fun. He was a really good sport throughout his entire session and all of my crazy ideas!
In addition to the outdoor portion at the farm, Canyon had a great attitude for his studio portion. I have to give him credit for his outfit choices, this young man has some serious style! He did a fantastic job picking out and choosing his wardrobe for his portrait session. I am pretty sure his shoes were snazzier than mine for sure!!!
Even better than Canyon's stellar wardrobe was his attitude. He was such a cool young man to work with. He absolutely killed the serious look when I asked him to go to that pose. I was trying to convince him to consider modelling after school, and while he didn't seem interested I think he would rock it! All in all Canyon really seemed to be a very well rounded young man, and I had a blast working with him.
I am so honored to have had the opportunity to capture this special milestone in your life Canyon. I know with your attitude and go with the flow mentality you will be able to handle all the twists and turns this life throws at you. I hope your senior year is a great one and you enjoy this time in your life!
