If someone were to ask me to pick my top 5 favorite portrait sessions, this one right here would be on that list.
Don't get me wrong, I truly enjoy all the clients that I work with and each session is different and wonderful in its own way. All that being said though, this first anniversary with Brandi and Matt, was nothing short of pure magic and I would share these photos every single day if I could. I think since it seems that we have been relocated to the arctic around here lately, it's the perfect time to go back to this warm, colorful, dreamy session and chase away the Winter blues.
Matt and Brandi first blew me away when we did their engagement photos. They rolled up looking like they were ready to walk the red carpet, and the chemistry between them was incredible. Their wedding day was equally wonderful, so I'm not going to lie, I had high expectations for their first anniversary session, and they exceeded every single one of them. From their perfectly coordinated outfits to their personalities together, they made everything a dream. The Sunbury Marina made the perfect location for all these magical elements to come together.
If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting these two, you know they are one of the most fun, easy going, and beautiful couples you could ever meet. I always enjoy watching them make each other laugh, and their love for each other just glow throughout their portraits. The love they have for each other lit up the entire scene, and I swear it's like the sky felt that it needed to step up it's game to keep up with them. Brandi had mentioned when we started that it would be nice if we had a pretty sunset. Everything at the start was pretty overcast and gray, and there was a question of rain. All at once though, the sky broke out the prettiest shades of purple and pink, and what happened next was nothing short of perfection.
I still get goosebumps when I look back at these photos. The romance, the chemistry, the love, the sunset over the river, it truly was the kind of session every photographer dreams of. This will always be one of my favorite photo sessions of all time. I am so thankful to you both, Brandi and Matt, for allowing me to capture the beauty of your relationship over and over, and for this truly magical session.
